~ 35:9 ~

It is Allah Who sends forth the Winds, so that they raise up the Clouds, and We drive them to a land that is dead, and revive the earth therewith after its death: even so (will be) the Resurrection!

Climate And Vegetation of Africa South of the Sahara
- Great slide show showing symptoms of our ill planet, esp. rain forests and 'sahels' in dire need of resurrection.

NICHES - this is a fantastic document written in the same terminology as was used in an "Engineering and the Environment" course I took back in univ. But what I am getting at here is the delicate balance between wind, water, earth... and sometimes fire (California Forest Fires of 2007). Funny thing is that even with the documented degradation to this essential system of ocean currents which feed the sahara and sahels with precipitate bearing easterlies which that big chunk of Africa has always relied on for sustenance - the chart to the right shows possible increase in future precip. As follows:

"So the answer to the question of greening or further desertification for the Sahara-Sahel is uncertain, at least in the IPCC’s Third Annual Report (TAR). The predictions five years later in the Fourth Annual Report may be more reliable - we’ll just have to wait and see. What happens in this vast, 30 million square mile region of Africa will have huge impacts elsewhere on Earth, as I’ll get to in the final Dust post."

Now the Quranic verse on top should not deter non muslims here. You are all welcome. I didnt intend for this blog to have religious inference, but when I came accross the verse it compelled me to put some media together. Atleast its a relief, with all of the ills of the earth there is still this promise from our Creator to revive and ressurect; a parable for the day of judgement, yet with factual environmental implication nonetheless.

Philosophy

"The body is your temple. Keep it pure and clean for the soul to reside in". ~B.K.S. Iyengar, Yoga: The Path To Holistic Health (from Quote Garden's - Quotations about the Body). I'm not certain if that Yoga Guru coined the phrase, nevertheless it rings true in multitudes of ways, more than we can even imagine. The complex nature of the body relies on balance which is maintained or disturbed by additions - food; and external effects - environment. The saying rings true not only for food and environment in the literal sense, but also metaphorical "food" and it's effects on intellectual and spiritual balance should be of great concern.
Hence the purpose of this blog is to attack the disturbing effects of negative stressors in the world be they material, intellectual, or spiritual in nature. Similarly we will explore means of maintaining a healthy balance of our World Body with suggestions on 'nutrition'. With the advent of the "Global Village" came a completely new ball game. It no longer suffices to look only within the boundaries of one's nation/locality for the answers to broad ranging questions as was the case over 1000 years ago when the world was split up into various empires. Personally I oppose the New World Order as proposed by our not so humble ruling elite. However I do believe that a Global Order can be attained, in fact this is the best solution. ONLY if such an order has been established. The Global Body and ALL of its constituents will begin to value itself with the same level of value one would give thier internal organs. What's the point of success when you're mising a bladder?? or your eyes, etc..??
Please support my cause and aid in finding a wholistic remedy for our physically, mentally, and spiritually damaged Earth.
